Miio Holopainen is a musician, sound designer and performance artist who often deals with the cultural tensions of the concert space and instruments through music and performance. Their background is in folk music, contemporary music, improvisation, sound installations and multi-art projects. Their solo violin music lingers on details, errors, coincidences, slow changes and repetition. It searches for ways of listening that seek out unconventional models of perceiving change as well as playing styles classified as incorrect, distortion, noise, and the restless moment within bow turns.
