Trauma Responses is a therapeutic artistic project by multidisciplinary artist Johanna Sulalampi. At SOLA -festival she presents a new audio-visual performance which examines the theme of trauma through the shifting ambivalent perspectives. Restless search for coherent identity leads to a collection of personal iconographies in sound objects and visual images. The video material consists of game engine views and macrophotography of the bodies of insects, rocks, plants, fungi and human. The beauty and violence of sounds and images carve out a space where breath is shallow, pulse accelerates, feel of discomfort rise and uncertainty of continuity presents itself in a stagnant time.
